Reinsurance Analyst

General information

Your position

Almost all insurance companies buy reinsurance offered by specialized partners (“reinsurers”) to protect themselves against any adverse development in their insurance portfolios. The conditions and terms of this protection are agreed in a reinsurance contract.

You will be part of the outward reinsurance team of Credendo ECA. This team is in charge of the placement, management and execution of the reinsurance contracts of Credendo and its subsidiaries.

  • Placement: each year, the reinsurance contracts need to be renewed and the conditions of each contract renegotiated. The goal is to get a timely placement in full, with the best terms and conditions for Credendo as a group.
  • Management: the team regularly interacts with its subsidiaries to keep track of the latest business and other developments of each company. The team is also in close contact with its reinsurers and reinsurance broker to follow the developments within the reinsurance market.
  • Execution: Under its reinsurance contracts, Credendo is required to provide regular reports towards its reinsurers. These reports allow the reinsurers to monitor their relationship with Credendo and its subsidiaries.

As Reinsurance Analyst, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • You will be in charge of liaising with the subsidiaries to obtain the contractually required information in time. You will check the consistency and harmonize the reporting amongst the different entities. You ensure that the reports are finalized and communicated to the reinsurers and the broker before the deadline.
  • You will analyse and summarize the information per subsidiary to compile the group report on a periodic basis. Researching and monitoring the market trends and evolution within and outside the group is part of your job as well.
  • You will often be in contact with our reinsurance broker for any questions relating to the periodic reports, execution of the reinsurance contracts or for ad hoc topics.
  • You will prepare on a regular basis reports and documentation to support the outward reinsurance team in their negotiations and decision-making, especially before and during the renewal of the reinsurance treaties.
  • You will work together with the colleagues of the reinsurance back office to ensure a correct implementation of the reinsurance contracts in the accounting systems and to check the consistency of the accounting data with the information in the reports provided to the reinsurers.
  • You will be involved in the on-going IT project, which will largely automatize the execution of the reinsurance contracts from an administrative point of view.

Your profile

  • You hold a master's degree in domains like accountancy, finance, economics or insurance or a bachelor’s degree with a first professional experience; a professional experience in a (re)insurance company or bank is considered a plus.
  • You have good Dutch or French language skills and are proficient in English.
  • You have a profound knowledge of Excel and a good knowledge of the other MS Office applications.
  • You work accurately and meticulously; you work effortlessly with figures and statistics.
  • You possess excellent analytical skills and a critical mindset.
  • You have good interpersonal skills and you are client-oriented.
  • You work autonomously, in an efficient and organised way, and you respect the deadlines. You can prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • You are a teamplayer.

We offer

  • A challenging career in a multilingual and international environment.
  • Continuous learning opportunities to develop your talents. We offer you extensive on-the-job technical and business training to get you acquainted with reinsurance and Credendo swiftly.
